Dr. Steffen Brown
MD, FACOG
Dr. Steffen Brown is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist with fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine. His areas of focus include fetal echocardiography and 3D imaging of the fetus. Dr. Brown has conducted award-winning research in fetal heart rate testing and fish oil DHA supplementation in pregnancy. His ongoing research focuses on 3D ultrasound for detection of fetal alcohol syndrome after mild to moderate alcohol exposure. His clinical awards include "Midwifery Consultant of the Year" and "Outstanding Medical Student Educator."
When describing what he loves about his practice, Dr. Brown says, "My favorite moments are sharing a first-look at the miracle of a new baby with families. It is a true pleasure to be part of the celebration.” Dr. Brown appreciates the opportunity to see patients from all regions of the state and has hospital privileges at Lovelace Women’s and Westside Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, Rust Medical Center, and University of New Mexico Hospital.
Outside of the office, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as they run, read, and play soccer together. His volunteer work includes youth group leadership at church and lecturing at UNM Hospital as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
