We support pregnant and postpartum people in their mental health journey. At Piñon Perinatal, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (Behavioral Health Specialists) provide psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and resources for mental health conditions.

The initial behavioral health appointment is an hour-long intake with subsequent follow-up visits, depending on individual needs. Our providers understand the impacts of pregnancy and postpartum on overall well-being. We specialize in psychiatric medications and supportive psychotherapy to encourage holistic care.

Supportive psychotherapy focuses on psychoeducation, encouragement, recognizing personal strengths, problem-solving, reframing negative thought patterns, loss and grief, and more. Conditions we treat include and are not limited to Adjustment Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Panic Disorder, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, ADHD, Personality Disorders, sleep disturbances, and care for those with current substance use. We also welcome people who have past psychiatric symptoms such as postpartum anxiety and depression with a goal for prevention as well as safety planning. Psychiatric symptoms are treatable, there is hope and healing.
