Dr. Madhurima Krishna Keerthy, MD, FACOG, is a Board Certified Physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is fellowship trained in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. With over a decade of experience in the medical field, she has demonstrated exceptional expertise in managing complex pregnancies, conducting clinical research, and leading initiatives to improve patient care and safety.

Following her residency, Dr. Keerthy served as an Attending Physician and OB Hospitalist at Henry Ford Health System from 2015 to 2021. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in managing labor and delivery in a tertiary unit , supervising residents and medical students, performing complex obstetrical procedures, and providing leadership on several patient safety committees. Dr. Keerthy’s commitment to patient care and education was recognized by her colleagues and residents, earning her multiple awards, including the National CREOG Faculty Award and the Hippocrates Award.

Her research interests are diverse, including studies on preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy outcomes. She has presented her research at numerous national conferences, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Keerthy’s leadership extends beyond clinical practice and research. She has held significant roles in various committees focused on quality improvement and patient safety, including the Obstetric ERAS System Redesign and Transformation Committee and the Obstetric Surgical Site Infection Committee at Henry Ford Health System. Her dedication to improving maternal and fetal outcomes is also evident in her work with the ACOG Patient Safety and Quality Committee, where she has contributed to developing national safety protocols.

Outside of her medical career, Dr. Keerthy has a deep appreciation for the arts. She is trained in Kuchipudi, a South Indian classical dance form, and is currently pursuing formal training in playing the Veena, a traditional Indian musical instrument. She enjoys reading and traveling with her husband, two children and her chocolate lab, Coco!
