Dr. Ellen Mozurkewich
MD, FACOG
Dr. Ellen Mozurkewich is a board-certified obstetrician gynecologist who has completed a sub-specialty fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine. Dr. Mozurkewich also holds a certification in fetal echocardiography from the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement/American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Her areas of clinical expertise include caring for expectant mothers with medical complications of pregnancy, and for expectant mothers with substance use disorders complicating pregnancy.
In addition to working as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Piñon Perinatal, Dr. Mozurkewich serves as an associate professor in the University of New Mexico Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has published more than 40 research articles in her areas of interest that include: fish oil supplementation during pregnancy, induction of labor, use of ultrasound for measuring fetal growth, and pain relief after delivery for mothers with high blood pressure. Dr. Mozurkewich has had the pleasure of teaching medical students, residents, and maternal-fetal medicine fellows over many years. She currently serves as the assistant fellowship director for the University of New Mexico maternal-fetal medicine fellowship.
Dr. Mozurkewich is committed to providing Piñon Perinatal patients with evidence-based, up-to-date, and compassionate patient care. In caring for mothers whose pregnancies are complicated by medical conditions or fetal anomalies, she believes in a multidisciplinary team approach, and a practice of shared decision-making with each mother-to-be.
